COURTESY AND BENCHMARKING VISIT BY GRADUATE SCHOOL UNIVERSITI SULTAN ZAINAL ABIDIN (UniSZA) TO THE INSTITUTE OF GRADUATE STUDIES, UNIVERSITI PENDIDIKAN SULTAN IDRIS (UPSI)
A delegation from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), led by Associate Professor Dr. Mutia Sobihah binti Abd Halim, Dean of the Graduate School, conducted a courtesy and benchmarking visit to the Institute of Graduate Studies, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor ChM. Dr. Azlan bin Kamari, Deputy Dean (Academic Development and Graduation), along with members of UPSI’s academic and administrative leadership.
The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange insights and explore academic approaches in postgraduate governance, curriculum development, and student engagement. UniSZA delegates were also briefed on UPSI’s latest strategic initiatives and ongoing enhancements in academic management and digital delivery of postgraduate programmes.
In a heartfelt moment during the session, UPSI expressed its deepest appreciation to UniSZA’s leadership for their support and concern during the national tragedy involving a fatal bus accident in Gerik on 9 June 2025. The incident, which occurred on the East–West Highway near Tasik Banding, claimed the lives of 15 UPSI students. UPSI extended its gratitude to UniSZA for their solidarity during this difficult time and prayed for divine mercy upon the souls of the departed.
Both universities expressed a strong commitment to fostering sustained collaboration in the future, particularly through academic exchanges, joint programmes, and shared research initiatives. The visit concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and mutual aspiration to elevate postgraduate education in Malaysia.
